Job openings

Geotechnical Driller

C.T. Soil group of Companies is an engineering company able to fulfill multiple needs of various sectors of the development and construction industries. We specialize in Conventional Geotechnical Boring using standard penetration test (SPT) and offer several other methods used to collect soil, groundwater, and rock samples.

Looking for an experienced driller or “trainee”.

Initial employment will be in the training phase and driving the Drill Truck (GMC 5000), a Class D license is required to start.  After suitable training, the new employee will operate our drill rigs (Diedrich D50 on a truck and a CME55 on a Bombardier track carrier).

Our drill rigs are primarily operational for our geotechnical engineering or environmental divisions, although we sometimes help other engineering or environmental firms on the occasion.

Both rigs are “dated” and require tender loving care, however they work for our geotechnical engineering needs. We discourage “high daily footage rates” at the expense of wear-and-tear on the equipment or personnel.  Our “motto” is such that we are not in the business of “making a hole”; we are in the business of obtaining quality engineering samples and data.

We currently have an operating crew consisting of a lead driller and drill helper; however, our current lead driller would like a “trainee” to help alleviate the rig-time demands on him.

In time we would like the drill rig operator to oversee the maintenance of equipment to ensure that equipment runs as expected for safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
